The town of Lynton is situated in an area noted for its high cliffs and excellent hills for walking on, along with stunning views. It is located on the edge of the outstanding wild of Exmoor, renowned for its animal life, like deer, goats, buzzards and free ponies.

If it is walking that you are interested in, Lynton is located right on the South West Coast Path, connected by it to Lynmouth to the East, where you will find the harbour and cliff railway. There is also a shingle beach here that draws surfers.
