Monstrous Surf at Polzeath
The wind was offshore, the swell was big, the sun was out, and the pros were in. There was an awed atmosphere at Polzeath as set after set of monstrous surf rolled in.
The locals and tourists alike stood and watched the seven to eight foot waves from the cliff top and beach. Some were brave enough to venture in, but did not get any further than joining the surf school in the white water along the shore.
Further out were the experienced surfers and bodyboarders, but despite the size and favourable wind, the sets closed out time and time again.
It still made for quite a spectacle though, for all those finding vantage points on the cliffs at high tide. The spectators found it hard to drag themselves away.
