Help conserve the Butterflies of Bodmin Moor

Over the next few months BTCV are going to be running a number of Practical conservation days for the Pearl Bordered and Marsh Fritillary Butterfly on Bodmin Moor, Both are Biodiversity Action Plan Species. The work on this project is made possible through funding from Cornwall AONB and SITA.

Both these species where once abundant in Cornwall, but are now restricted to only a few sites in the county, many of these site are located on Bodmin Moor. The work that BTCV is doing aims to improve the habitats on many of these sites as well as improve the habitats on adjacent sites to encourage the colonies to migrate and grow.

In order to carry out the work BTCV relies on the help of volunteers, you don’t have to be super fit - just willing to contribute what you can. You’ll learn new skills, get great exercise, meet new friends and see some very special butterflies.

Got to the BTCV‘s web site for more information.
