Cornwall Film Festival 2007 8th to 11th November 2007 The Cornwall Film Festival happens over 4 days in venues in and around Falmouth and acts as a forum for local filmmakers to market their films at prearranged meetings and social events giving them the opportunity to discuss future projects and forge new collaborations. The festival revolves around the café/info area where local media companies and colleges set up displays and discuss their work. With expert guests, discussions, o¬ne-to-ones with visiting professionals, technical workshops and master-classes, local filmmakers and film lovers are offered a chance to not only see a vast range of films but to increase their knowledge and skills. Although the Festival itself takes place in Falmouth, much of the behind the scenes work of co-ordinating it happens in the festival office in Redruth. The Festival is pleased to welcome John Wojowski, the Festival Director of Kinofilm, Manchester International Film Festival, to take over this year from Laura Hardman who is currently on maternity leave. John brings with him 15 years of experience delivering film festivals and curating touring film programmes in Europe, USA, South America, Australia and Malaysia. John says, "I'm extremely excited at the opportunity to produce this year's event in Falmouth, and I'm already rising to the challenge. There's a wealth of film making talent in Cornwall and we've had over 150 short films submitted from Cornish Filmmakers. There have been five new features produced here this year too, including The Midnight Drives and Dressing Granite - which will be premiering in the festival.” John Wojowski Cornwall Film Festival |
