| Duchy Ballet presents two new ballets The Mermaid of Zennor and Sleeping Beauty (Aurora's Wedding). Duchy Ballet, the South West’s foremost youth ballet company, is internationally recognised for its exceptional performances. It is proud to première the Mermaid of Zennor, a story that can be enjoyed on many levels. David Frost has done a marvellous job in composing a new score for this local folk tale. The music will be expertly played by the Duchy Ballet Orchestra under the baton of David Frost himself. In The Sleeping Beauty, Duchy Ballet's talented young dancers will appear alongside guest artists in this glittering production which is performed to the music of Tchaikovsky. Fairy-tale characters and fabulous jewels celebrate the wedding of Aurora and her handsome Prince after the jealous wicked fairy, Carabosse, is defeated by the ever-watchful Lilac Fairy. Evening performances start at 7.30pm and the Saturday matinée at 2.00pm. Tickets are priced at £15.00 and £17.50 with reductions for under 16s and school groups (in the evening), as well as a good value family ticket.
